Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's First Meeting: How the Couple Met on the Sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Movie
Alia Bhatt met Ranbir Kapoor for the first time on the sets of Black in 2005. They didn't meet again until 2017 when they filmed Brahmastra together.
Did you ever imagine that the first time Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor crossed paths was on the set of the movie "Black"? In a recent interview conducted to promote her film "Heart Of Stone," Alia reminisced about her "favourite firsts." She discussed a range of experiences, from her inaugural collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali to her earliest attempts at choreography at the tender age of 4. Alia revealed that her very first audition was for the acclaimed movie "Black," which featured stalwarts Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. Intriguingly, it was during the shooting of this film in 2005 that she first encountered Ranbir Kapoor, who is now her husband. Alia shared with Netflix, "I auditioned for the role of a young Rani Mukerji. Needless to say, I didn't get the part because I was not in the film. However, here's a fun fact: it was also the first time I met my now-husband, Ranbir Kapoor."
During the interview, the talented actress also highlighted the distinctions between working on a Hollywood production versus shooting for Hindi or Indian cinema. Alia emphasized that the energy on sets, irrespective of location, remains consistent. The entire team converges with a singular purpose and shared goal: to ensure the excellence of their work.
Among Alia Bhatt's other memorable "firsts" were her debut movie "Sangharsh," which she filmed at the tender age of 5 or 6, and her inaugural collaboration with the renowned Sanjay Leela Bhansali, "Gangubai Kathiawadi."
Alia Bhatt's Hollywood debut, "Heart Of Stone," is currently available for streaming on the prominent OTT platform, Netflix. The film, co-starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, has garnered a mixture of reviews from both critics and audiences alike.
In a separate interview, Alia Bhatt disclosed that her co-star in "Heart Of Stone," Gal Gadot, was among the first individuals to be informed about her pregnancy. In a conversation with BBC Asia Network, Alia expressed, "I felt a profound sense of protection and comfort. The news of pregnancy is typically shared once the first trimester is well underway, so I didn't disclose it to many people. However, I did confide in Gal Gadot, as well as my producers and the director, Tom Harper, as they needed to be aware. Their response was incredibly supportive, enthusiastic, and understanding, dispelling any doubts I may have had."
Alia Bhatt further recounted, "I distinctly remember a time during shooting when the weather was exceptionally warm. Gal was genuinely concerned about my hydration levels, urging me to drink enough water. She emphasized the importance of staying hydrated by saying, 'You need to keep yourself well-hydrated.' Such is her nature—exuding warmth and displaying genuine care for her team members and crew. Her interactions with her fellow actors are equally wonderful. In essence, I felt utterly at ease."
In terms of her professional endeavors, Alia Bhatt's upcoming venture is "Jee Le Zara," where she will be sharing the screen with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
