Vlogger Maya Gogoi Found Dead in A Service Apartment in Bengaluru, Boyfriend Aarav Harni is The Prime Suspect

A young woman Maya Gogoi, hailing from the state of Assam, was found dead in a service apartment in Indiranagar, Bengaluru.

Maya was a Vlogger who also worked as a counsellor in a private firm. She checked into a service apartment, with her boyfriend Aarav Harni, on Saturday.

Her decomposed body was found three days later by the police.

CCTV footage showed the couple entering the service apartment on November 23 at 12:30 pm. The couple appeared calm in the lobby of the apartment. Aarav Harni, however, was seen leaving the apartment alone without Maya, on Tuesday.

As per the police, the main suspect Aarav planned the murder before they booked into the apartment. He carried a knife with him. A yellow nylon rope, allegedly purchased by Aarav, from Zepto, was also seen on the floor.

“The documents found in the room revealed that the name of the victim is Maya Gogoi and her age is 19 years. There are many wounds on her body, the most fatal injury is the one stab wound on her chest. There are injuries on her head as well,” said Devraj, Deputy Commissioner of Police, East Division Bengaluru.

“It seems that he had brought a knife with him and got the nylon rope here, which indicates that he had planned the murder. We will be able to get the rest of the information after his arrest,” they said.

According to the police, he also stayed with the body for an entire day. They are investigating whether he tried to cut the body into pieces.

The alleged suspect Aarav Harni hails from Kerala and he has currently switched his phone off. Maya and Aarav have been dating for the past six months, according to Maya’s sister.

A murder case has been registered and teams have been formed to hunt down the suspect.
