Two Mumbai Youths Arrested for Harassing a South Korean Vlogger; Harassment Video Goes Viral

The Mumbai police arrested two youths after they harassed a South Korean YouTuber while she was live streaming on the busy streets of Mumbai. 

In a video, which has now gone viral, one of the boys can be seen forcefully holding the YouTuber’s hand. They can be seen invading her personal space and they come and stand right beside her. 

The youth again places his hand around her neck and tries to kiss her. He can be seen making all kinds of gestures in the live video. 

Clearly petrified, the young woman kept saying “no-no.” 

She walks away and is heard saying, “Time to go home.” The two youths again follow her on the bike and offer her a lift. She refuses and tells them that her house is nearby. 

After the unfortunate incident the YouTuber tweeted, “Last night on stream, there was a guy who harassed me. I tried my best not to escalate the situation and leave because he was with his friend. And some people said that it was initiated by me being too friendly and engaging the conversation. Makes me think again about streaming.”

Two boys identified as Mobeen Chand Mohd Shaikh, 19, and Mohd Naqib Sadarialam Ansari, 20, have now been arrested. 

"Mumbai Police's Khar Police station has taken a Suo Moto action in an incident that happened with a Korean woman (foreigner) in the jurisdiction of Khar West. In this regard, both the accused have been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the IPC," Mumbai Police said in a tweet.

Although Mumbai police acted quickly, such incidents leave foreign tourists in a state of fear and reflect the country in poor light. 

Mumbai which is otherwise known to be a modern and safe city for women, this harassment case comes as a big surprise!
