Singer Taylor Swift’s New Album Tortured Poets Department is A Double Album And It has Finally Arrived
Taylor Swift surprised fans with a double album release of "Tortured Poets Department," featuring 31 songs about love, heartbreak, and her personal struggles. The deluxe versions include even more bonus tracks.
Taylor Swift’s eleventh studio album ‘Tortured Poets Department’ is finally released. It is a double album! The singer revealed that she recorded an extra 15 songs which are available in the form of The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.
“It’s a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album.”
“I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours”, she wrote on her Instagram profile.
Volume 1 contains 16 songs whereas Volume 2 has 15 songs which makes it 31 altogether. Some of the songs featured in the album are The Prophecy, Peter, The Albatross, Bolter, Robin, etc.
New additions include “The Manuscript,” “The Bolter,” “The Albatross,” and “The Black Dog,” which are the bonus tracks featured on different vinyl versions of the album.
She has collaborated with Post Malone and Florence and the Machine in the new album.
The songs touch upon her recent relationships, love, heartbreak, recognition, identity, depression and her own public image. Reviews suggest that she has been vulnerable like never before. Swift had announced the album at the Grammys in the month of February while accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
The singer is definitely on a roll as she has released four new albums in the last four years. The ‘Tortured Poets Department’ is expected to break all records.
During the Eras tour in Melbourne, Taylor Swift spoke to audiences about her experience on working on the new tracklist. She revealed,“The things I was going through, the things I was writing about, it kind of reminded me why songwriting is something that like actually gets me through my life. I’ve never had an album where I needed songwriting more than I needed it on ‘Tortured Poets.” She told them it was her “most cathartic project yet.”
