This news was confirmed by his mother Neetu Kapoor in an Instagram post.
She wrote, “Thank you for your concern and your good wishes Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is on self quarantine at home and following all precautions.”
Her post was immediately flooded with a lot of good wishes from fans and followers worldwide.
Before Ranbir, Neetu Kapoor had also tested positive for the virus in December last year however she recovered soon. She was shooting for the film ‘Jug Jug Jeeyo’ during that period.
Ranbir’s Uncle Randhir Kapoor had told Bollywood Hungama, “I believe he is not well, but I am not sure what he has got. I am not in town.”
News outlet Etimes reported that actress Alia Bhatt has tested negative for the virus although she’s taking no chances and has decided to isolate herself.
Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali the director of Alia'sGangubai Kathiawadi’ movie has also tested positive for the virus as per reports.
Keeping in mind the current circumstances, Alia shared a motivating quote on her Insta Handle which read, “We grow through what we go through.”
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic ‘Sanju’ in 2018.
He pursued film-making and method acting at the School of Visual Arts and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
He even assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the 2007 film ‘Black.’ Although his debut film ‘Saawariya’ bombed at the box office, the following film Bachna Ae Haseeno where he plays a Casanova and falls in love with three women at different stages of his life was a commercial success.
The talented and versatile actor who is known to portray romantic roles the best, featured in films like ‘Bachna Ae Haseenon’, ‘Wake up Sid’, Rockstar, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil ,and Barfi!
