A Netflix user or not, the ‘Mowgli’ Hindi cast could have been enough to make you crave for this fresh take on ‘The Jungle Book’, but, hold on! You haven't yet been through its English counterpart.
Our ‘Batman’, Christian Bale, who was able to set a whole new standard to this superhero character is playing Bagheera. ‘My dear’ Sherlock and Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch puts on the tiger screen as Shere Khan. Plus, you will experience, eminent actress and Oscar winner Cate Blanchett playing Kaa, Naomi Harris as Raksha, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ girl Frieda Pinto as Messua, and actor-director Andy Sirkis as Baloo, who is also in charge of ‘Mowgli’s’ direction.
Mowgli, the title character has been performed by Rohan Chand, an American actor of Indian origin.
‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’, though based on the novel by Rudyard Kipling, indicates a different perspective in the movie. As it is not only the struggle-story of Mowgli’s survival as a human born in the jungle, but also a conflict inside, to know, where he actually belongs. To the woods or to mankind. Another layer of the plot revolves around the survival of the animals, against the humans. Above all, the storyline suggests the survival of the fittest!
Allow me to draw the conclusion by quoting Netflix, “Acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis reinvents Rudyard Kipling’s beloved masterpiece, in which a boy torn between two worlds accepts his destiny and becomes a legend. Mowgli has never truly belonged in either the wilds of the jungle or the civilized world of man. Now he must navigate the inherent dangers of each on a journey to discover where he truly belongs.”
