'Dark' Creators Return with Highly Anticipated Series, to be Available on Netflix from Today
A migrant steamship heads west to leave the old continent where the passengers are united by their hopes and dreams for their future abroad. The journey takes an unexpected turn when they discover another migrant ship adrift on the open sea.
"1899 "is a highly anticipated series from the minds that brought us one of the finest sci-fi shows of all time; "Dark". This German multi language epic period mystery television series created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar will be available from Today on Netflix.
The series will shed light on a group of European migrants traveling from London on a ship to start new lives in New York City. The group soon encounters another migrant ship and their journey begins to turn into a nightmare.
In a tweet from Netflix, they requested all to mark the calendars for 1899, as they wrote, “Mark your calendars for movie 1899. On their journey across the Atlantic Ocean, the passengers of the Kerberos encounter the biggest mystery of their lives. Welcome to 1899, a deeply immersive new series from the creators of DARK 🜃”. From the trailer, it is clear 1899 will leave the audience at the edge of their seats.
1899 Storyline
1899, the series rotates around a group of European migrants who leave London on a steamship to start new lives in the city of New York but mysterious happenings change the course of the immigrant ship.
Things take a turn when they encounter another ship adrift in the sea. Mind-bending, mysterious events start taking place, bewildering the ship’s passengers. Chaos follows, and the journey becomes a nightmare for the travelers, with unprecedented events unfolding.
