‘RIP’ will premiere on Netflix.
The film will be produced by Artists Equity, the production studio that was founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in 2022.
The plot of the thriller as well as the release date is still unknown.
Damon, 53, and Affleck, 51, have been best friends for years and collaborated in numerous projects such as Dogma (1999), Good Will Hunting, The Last Duel and Air.
They wrote and starred in Good Will Hunting which brought them immense recognition. The pair won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the same film.
The duo has produced documentaries such as The Greatest Love Story Never Told for Amazon MGM Studios and Small Things Like These, which had its premiere at the Berlin Film Festival 2024.
Matt Damon was last seen in Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning Oppenheimer and Ethan Coen’s Drive-Away Dolls.
Affleck reprised his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in 2023’s The Flash, and featured in wife Jennifer Lopez’s film This Is Me… Now: A Love Story.
As a result of Matt and Ben's frequent collaboration and years of being together, their friendship significantly garners public attention. US Weekly described their relationship as “a bromance worth celebrating.”
