Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe, Lara Dutta Bhupathi, has been sharing interesting anecdotes about her life on social media lately.
Be it social media presence, online trolling or the portrayal of women in Indian cinema she always has something invaluable to share with viewers.
In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, she offered her views on handling negativity and trolls on social media.
She explained, “See, on a personal level, I think for me, I don’t have a massive social media presence. My social media presence… I am there, but I am there as much as I want to be. If I am going to be hungry for followers, for comments, and for things like that, then I also have to be ready to take everything that comes along with it.”
She revealed that she doesn’t have a massive social media following unlike many celebs. Her followers are authentic, genuine and who have her best interest in mind. She also shares things that are special to her. Although she doesn’t get trolled often, she comes across people who have their own opinions about her. “A lot of people say ‘arrey buddhi ho gayi’, ‘arrey moti ho gayi’. Is it really going to make a difference in my life? It doesn’t”, she accurately explains.

Besides speaking about her social media presence earlier, Lara disclosed that she had faced an eve teasing incident during the music release event of her Bollywood debut, Andaaz. The cast of Andaaz included Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar.
She, Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar went to Rhythm House at Chandni Chowk, Delhi. As soon as the trio entered the place, a huge crowd gathered. Someone from the crowd pinched her. She was wearing a sari then. She realised that something was wrong and identified the guy. The actress hit him so severely that her co-star Akshay Kumar got worried. He said, “What are you doing? You're an actor now. You can't be doing all this' (Laughs).”
The actress has been a United Nations Population Fund Goodwill Ambassador since 2001 after she won the Miss Universe pageant. She said, “Celebrities with the power to affect their impressionable minds therefore have a moral responsibility to impart positive messages. I am committed to using any influence I may have to do just that as a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)”
Lara Dutta was last seen in Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley. Some of her upcoming projects are Suryast, Ramayana and Welcome To The Jungle.
