Scott who directed box office hits like ‘Alien’, ‘Blade Runner’ and ‘Gladiator’ is set to bring the story of the assassination of the former head of Gucci fashion house, Maurizio Gucci, on the big screen.
The script of the movie is based on the book ‘The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed’ by Sara Gay Forden. Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of company founder Guccio Gucci, was the head of the Italian fashion house when he was killed on the steps of his office in the year 1995.
In the movie Gaga, will play the role of Gucci’s ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani, who was convicted for planning the assassination. Patrizia Reggiani, the Italian socialite, has two children with the fashion brand owner. She has served 18 years in prison before she was released in 2016.
The 33-year-old entertainer Lady Gaga has won many critical acclaim since taking to the screen. The New-York born star made her first big-screen debut in the year 2013 in the American action exploitation film, ‘Machete Kills’.
In the year 2015, Gaga showed her acting skill in the fifth season of Ryan Murphy’s hit anthology series ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’. Gaga’s stellar performance as a villainous Countess earned her the Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film award.
For Lady Gaga, 2019 is perhaps the most successful year of her career. In February this year at the 91st Annual Academy Awards, Gaga won the Best Original Song Oscar for writing the song, Shallow.
She said during her award acceptance speech, “If you are at home and you are sitting on your couch and you are watching this right now, all I have to say is that this is hard work. I have worked hard for a long time and it’s not about, you know, winning, but what it’s about is not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it”.
Ridley Scott’s latest crime thriller ‘All the Money in the World’, starring Christopher Plummer, Michelle Williams, and Mark Wahlberg has also earned critical acclaim. The film is based on the kidnapping of J.Paul Getty’s grandson in the year 1973.
