Katy Perry and Taylor Swift End Their Feud with an Olive Branch
Two singing sensations are back together ending their "miscommunication".
There is good news for Katy Perry and Taylor Swift fans. The besties turned enemies have got back together again. Yes, you heard right, they have patched up and we are pleased. It was Katy who sent the olive branch. Taylor Swift received a package from Katy with the words "miscommunications" and "deeply sorry" written on it. Taylor posted a picture of the package on Instagram and wrote, it meant a lot to her to receive the message from Katy just before her Reputation stadium tour could begin.
The feud between Katy and Taylor goes back to 2014 involving dancers Lockhart Brownlie, Scott Myrick, and Leah Adler. Before joining Swift's world tour, the three dancers were on Perry's California Dreams tour. However, they gave Swift a 30-day notice to leave her tour early to rejoin Perry's tour, but they were fired on the spot.
"She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour," Swift told Rolling Stones. "So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."
One of the dancers, Lockhart Brownlie had this to say, "Obviously we were with Katy for two-and-a-half years, she's like family to us." She also said, "We weren't really dancing in Taylor's tour anyway so I had got a little bored."
Perry was upset with what had happened and posted a tweet referencing the movie Mean Girls-: “Watch out for Regina George in sheep’s clothing.”
Swift released a song which she co-wrote named "Bad blood". It was about a female musician. The song was about how the artist tried to sabotage her concert by hiring the dancers who worked for her. It was a known fact that Katy Perry was the subject of the song.
Perry released "Swish Swish," a collaborative track with Nicki Minaj that was a response to "Bad Blood."
"Swish Swish" was just a harmless dance song with a few lines that indirectly alluded to Swift- "Don't need opinions/From a shellfish or a sheep," is a reference to Perry's own Regina George "sheep" tweet from 2014.
In her appearance on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, Perry spoke openly about her feud with Taylor."Honestly, it's really, like, she started it, and it's time for her to finish it," Perry said.
She also agreed to the backup dancer story and she said, "I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn't speak to me." She called the whole episode “a full shutdown.”
She went on saying about Taylor, "And then she writes a song about me about me, and I'm like, OK, cool, cool, cool. That's how you wanna deal with it? Karma."
In Corden’s show, she was ready for the "petty bullshit" to be done. She wanted the ill-feelings and bad-mouthing to end and she was ready to take any step.
It seems Katy had been working on it and the result is the hand of friendship and reconciliation. The cold war between the pop stars gave us fans many diss songs hopefully their friendship will give us better ones.
Fans are rejoicing the end of the feud
“What in the world is going on?! Nicki Minaj and Cardi B took a selfie at the Met Gala, and now Katy has ended her long-lasting feud with Taylor.”
“THE TAYLOR SWIFT AND KATY PERRY FEUD HAS OFFICIALLY ENDED THIS IS A MONUMENTAL DAY OF MY EXISTENCE ON THIS EARTH,” one fan tweeted. This should be a holiday!
Yet another wrote, “I may not have been around to witness the Paris peace conference or the end of the cold war but I can proudly say I witnessed the Taylor Swift/Katy Perry feud end on may 8th, 2018 and that, my friends, is what matters most.”
