It’s difficult to believe that Katrina Kaif has completed twenty years in Bollywood. Time has indeed flown so fast!
The actress has entertained the audience with so many amazing movies over the years.
She lived in the United Kingdom before moving to India to try her hand in films.
Film director Kaizad Gustad spotted her at a fashion show in London. He casted her in the film ‘Boom’ in 2003. The movie however was a commercial failure. Initially Katrina found it difficult to find suitable roles due to her poor command over the hindi language.
As destiny would have it, she began receiving roles that boosted her career. It was not long before she established herself as a prominent actress in the Indian Film Industry. Some of her memorable roles are in movies such as New York, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Ek Tha Tiger and many more.
One of India’s highest paid actresses, Kat has captivated audiences by her dance moves in dance item tracks like the famed ‘Sheila Ki Jawani.’ She also has a great eye for fashion, beauty and makeup.
Katrina has a philanthropic side too! Kaif supports various charitable causes.
She maintains a low profile about her philanthropic work. In fact ‘Times of India’ has praised her for this.
The bollywood actress is involved in another project called ‘Relief Projects India’ which is a charitable trust run by her mother which works for the betterment of underprivileged children.
Husband Vicky Kaushal had a lot of good things to say about Katrina.
“I think it is very inspirational. Now knowing her even more, it’s truly inspirational. Now I know her as a human and she’s a real fighter, especially when things are not working in her favour. She’s a go-getter. I learn a lot from her”, he said about Katrina in a conversation with the Indian Express.
“My mindset is very different. I am more of a chiller. I am like, ‘Relax, ho jaayega (It will be done),’ but she is like a fighter. She goes for it; she attacks it. I have realised that the way she is and what she has achieved for herself, in the last 20 years, is incredible. From where she came and then just being here and adapting, it’s incredible. She definitely is a star.”
