Here’s How Alia and Ranbir Had a Bengali Style Wedding

Alia and Ranbir tied the knot on April 14, 2022 and it was a grand affair with close friends and relatives in attendance.  

The pictures are out and without a doubt, they made a wonderful pair on D Day.  

The wedding took place in Ranbir’s Vastu residence.  

The bride’s father- director Mahesh Bhatt has described the wedding as a true “fairytale” to a media portal.  

An emotional Mahesh Bhatt told ETimes, “Who says the age of fairy tales coming true is over?” in reference to his daughter’s wedding.  

The wedding was a private affair and not much information leaked until the marriage was over.  

Some fans decided to take things forward in their own style.  

For instance, fans in the ‘city of joy’ have taken things forward and given the fairy tale wedding a Bengali touch.  

In the Bengali style ceremony, fans decorated two mannequins as Ranbir and Alia. The mannequins were covered with face cutouts of Ranbir and Alia. 

The figurine representing Ranbir wore a yellow kurta while the one representing the bride adorned a red, gold and green saree.  

The couple reached the wedding destination in Ballygunge 21 Pally in a hand-pulled rickshaw. 

Rituals were performed to get the two dolls married by a pundit. 

Two fans wore sashes that had Kareena and Karisma written on them to symbolise that they were wedding guests in the ceremony.

The gesture affirms that crazy fans can take their idolization and worship for Bollywood stars to great lengths.  

This Bengali style one-of-a-kind wedding was indeed a sweet gesture and a kind tribute to the newlyweds by Kolkata fans.
