Disney's Aladdin: The Special Look Reveals Will Smith as the Blue Genie

Before you set your eyes on the live-action edition of Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ this summer, make sure you don’t miss the special look, Will Smith as the Blue Genie.

Disney's Aladdin: The Special Look Reveals Will Smith as the Blue Genie

The Walt Disney Studios put up a special look video clip on Sunday, February 10, that unravels Will Smith’s look as the Blue Genie from ‘Aladdin’, the live-action big screen magic. A remake of the 1992 animated classic, released by the Walt Disney Pictures, ‘Aladdin’ garnered two Academy Awards, two Golden Globes, four Grammy Awards and more.

Here’s the special look for you from Disney's Aladdin:

Set in the fictitious port city of Agrabah, how a street rat named Aladdin comes across a magic lamp that hides a powerful Genie inside it, that would eventually transform his entire life, is the story in the nutshell. Thanks to the majestic Genie, who helps Aladdin unite with the love of his life, Princess Jasmine and defeat the rogue Jafar who had always laid his greedy eyes on the lamp as well as the girl!

This Genie, a most important persona in the story, was originally donned by the legendary Robin Williams.

It would be exciting to watch another maestro, Will Smith, doing the Genie in his own style, blending kind of that hip hop gesture… you know what I mean right!

The title role will be played by Canadian actor Mena Masood, whereas, Naomi Scott will be seen as Princess Jasmine. The bad guy character of Jafar is having Dutch actor Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban plays Sultan and Abu will be once again voiced by the renowned voice actor Frank Welker. Welker is best known for voicing Freddie and Scooby-Doo itself in the Scooby-Doo series. This voice behind the original ‘Abu’, Aladdin’s pet monkey, was also involved in animated projects like ‘The Simpsons’, ‘The Transformers’ etc.

Disney is introducing a new character this time, of Prince Anders enacted by the recent ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’ famed Billy Magnussen.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film will be reprising all of its original songs, with two new songs added in the list.

‘Aladdin’ live action is on its way to spill the magic on May 24, 2019.
