Air quality in Southern Asia has raised alarms across the country. Pakistan and Punjab are facing immense smog-like conditions bringing the country’s operation to a halt. Many Governmental bodies are urging to bring immediate measures to obtain better air quality. Cities like Delhi are again on the list where Air quality has deteriorated
Multan faced a severe rise in the AQI where the normal range is between 300 to 400, Multan witnessed a sharp rise of close to 2000 AQI. This is said to be beyond the natural limit as claimed by the World Health Organization. Pakistan is followed by Delhi where the Air quality has deteriorated to a new level. This is a persisting issue and is believed to be the 9th day after Diwali.
“A thick layer of smog has engulfed Delhi’s most populated areas, leaving citizens to cope with the hazardous air. The situation has worsened since Diwali, with high pollution levels continuing into mid-November,” says a report from CPCB.
Pakistan is home to cities such as Lahore, Multan, and Gujranwala which are quite popular and have major trade and business hubs. Moreover, it is also home to many educational institutions. However, because of the rising poor air quality, many schools and colleges have been asked to shut down for a few days or until the air quality improves.
The Poor AQUi is budding in the urban areas as there are a lot of commutes. Moreover, the shift in temperature is further affecting the growth of smog.
