In the illustrious history of the IPL, MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings have emerged victorious and claimed the IPL T20 title in multiple years, namely 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023. These remarkable triumphs have cemented Chennai's legacy as a powerhouse in the tournament.

Last night at Narendra Modi Stadium, despite the rainfall and DLS-method, Chennai beat Gujrat by 5 wickets. Chennai on Monday, won the toss and chose to field. Gujarat started strongly with Wriddhiman Saha notching up a well-deserved half-century. However, Shubhman Gill couldn't replicate his best performance. Setting a target of 214 runs, Gujarat owed their impressive total to Sai Sudharsan's outstanding knock of 96 runs from a mere 47 balls, showcasing a phenomenal strike rate of 204.26.

At halftime, rain showers intervened, leading to a substantial delay in the match. Consequently, the Duckworth-Lewis method came into play, and the target was revised to 170 runs to be achieved from 15 overs. Devon Conway kickstarted the chase in magnificent fashion, smashing 47 runs off a mere 25 deliveries, earning him the well-deserved title of "Player of the Match."

Despite losing two quick wickets before reaching the 80-run mark, the trio of Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, and Ravindra Jadeja stepped up to the challenge.

With strike rates of 207.69, 237.50, and an impressive 250 respectively, Rahane, Rayudu, and Jadeja propelled Chennai towards their 5th IPL T20 title. Their remarkable performances under pressure ultimately secured the well-deserved victory for Chennai Super Kings.

Despite suffering a defeat in the final against Chennai, Gujarat's Shubman Gill was bestowed with the prestigious title of "Most Valuable Player" of the tournament, having amassed a remarkable total of 890 runs in 17 innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal, on the other hand, was recognized as the "Emerging Player" of the tournament, showcasing his immense talent with an impressive tally of 695 runs in 14 innings. Meanwhile, Mohammad Shami's exceptional performance, taking 28 wickets in 17 innings with an impressive average of 18.61, earned him the well-deserved accolade of the "Leading Wicket-Taker" of the season.
