Auto Driver Arrested after He Abuses Girl for Canceling Ola Ride

We all have waited for cabs longer than our expected time. Longer waiting times are a disadvantage of the app-based cabs and transportation systems however, one always has the option to cancel cabs and transportation in case it takes a longer time.

In a harrowing incident, a woman was seen getting abused and slapped by an Autodriver. The incident took place in Bangalore when a woman named Niti took to social media to circulate a video where she was seen in an argument with the auto driver over the cancellation of the auto ride and boarding a different auto.

Identified as Muthuraj, an auto driver was arrested by the Magadi road police station. Residents of Banglore city praised the police for taking such swift action and holding up the culprit. Bangalore has witnessed many such incidents over the past few days because of which people started claiming this to be a safety issue.

“He needs to be detained in the police lockup room for at least 24 hours and let off with a written undertaking not to repeat this type of behavior with anyone in the future so that no one else also dares to bully and outrage the modesty of any woman in public. Moreover, he should also publicly apologize to those girls on camera.” added social media users.

The victim while sharing the video wrote “Yesterday I faced severe harassment and was physically assaulted by your auto driver in Bangalore after a simple ride cancellation. Despite reporting, your customer support has been unresponsive. Immediate action is needed.”
