Anushka and Virat Express Anger over Leaked Video of Virat’s Hotel Room

An anonymous follower has entered Virat Kohli’s hotel room, recorded a video of his room and leaked it online. 

The video showcases Virat’s luggage and personal belongings. The incident has taken place in Crown Towers, Perth. 

The cricketer has shared this video on his Insta profile while Anushka Sharma has shared the same on her Insta stories. 

The couple are expressing anger and fear over their privacy after what has ensued. 

Anushka has written a note laced with anger: “Have experienced a few incidents where some fans have shown no compassion or grace in the past but this really is the worst thing. An absolute disgrace and violation of a human being and anyone who sees this and thinks celebrity ho toh deal Karna padega (If you are a celebrity then you will have to deal with this) should know that you are also part of the problem.”

While Virat wrote, “I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I've always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it's made me feel very paranoid about my privacy. If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I'm NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people's privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment.”

The hotel authorities have issued a statement saying that action has been taken against those involved in the incident. They are also speaking with the Indian men’s cricket team and ICC to come to a mutual resolution. 

There have been several instances in the past where the privacy of famous celebrities were invaded sometimes at the cost of the celebs losing their lives. For these celebrities fame comes at a price. 

While everyone is interested to get a peek into the private lives of their favourite stars, crossing personal boundaries to do so is a complete no no as it could have serious repercussions. There could be a loss of reputation, exposure of personal information, mental injury to the victim and sometimes death. The topic of invasion of privacy especially for celebrities is still a debatable subject and many aspects related to it remain blurred to this day.
