Ajay Devgan’s Sports Biopic ‘Maidaan’ to Release in December 2020

While he’s still relishing his recent success of ‘Tanhaji’, his upcoming film already got announced with a new release date. ‘Maidaan, that was earlier supposed to come out on November 27, now has been pushed to December 11, 2020.

‘Maidaan’, which happens to be a sports drama, is also a biography of the legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Much different than Ajay Devgan’s royal, periodic flick ‘Tanhaji’, the actor will be donning Abdul Rahim on screen, who is said to be the founding father of Indian football.

Presumably, the biopic will be set in between 1950s to early 60s. 

Going by the first look, Ajay Devgan will again be seen in his common man avatar, being cast in a very different genre than his recent other releases.

Interestingly, a bunch of other sports dramas are already in making parallely, for instance, Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Jhund’, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’ etc.
