A recent article published by BBC says that female led Oscar films are more profitable. Undeniably, the ‘women empowerment’ trends that can be observed in the recent years has touched the entire world and it’s reflected in the films as well. Films with a woman protagonist are more successful commercially, whether mainstream or not. Critics are more likely to appreciate such films and therefore they are bringing more awards.
