Vikas Walkar Reveals Horrific Details How Aaftab Poonawala Killed Shraddha

Aaftab Amin Poonawala had revealed to Shraddha Walkar's father that he had strangled her with his own hands. Walkar had testified this in a Delhi sessions court while being examined by the prosecution. 

Shraddha Walkar who was in a live-in-relationship with Aaftab Poonawala was allegedly strangled by him on May 18 last year. 

Vikas Walkar told in the statement that Aaftab also confessed to him that he had  purchased a shovel, a hammer, two knives, and cut both her wrists. The body parts were then put into a polythene bag. 

Vikas Madan Walkar said that he went to Mehrauli police station on November 11, 2022, where officials asked him whether he recognised Poonawala.

“I replied in the affirmative and said this is Poonawala, who was living with my daughter for the last three years. I also informed the police that he quarrelled with my daughter and beat her up on several occasions,” Vikas Walkar told the court.

“On my inquiry from Poonawala as to where my daughter was, he said she was no more...,” he added.

“I was shocked and started feeling dizzy. When I recovered after a while, Poonawala started revealing how he killed my daughter. He told me that he had a fight with my daughter on May 18, 2022 at their Chhatarpur residence and further informed me that he had strangled Shraddha with his own hands,” he said.

Vikas Walkar said that he was introduced to Aaftab in 2020 after his wife’s death. Shraddha had brought Aaftab to his house. When the family opposed Shraddha’s decision to opt for a live-in-relationship, she said that could make her own decisions, being a 25-year old woman. The victim told her father that she ceased to be his daughter going forward. 

The killing of Shraddha Walkar last year sent shockwaves across the nation. The accused allegedly dismembered her body, kept the bodyparts in the fridge, and then disposed of her body parts across the city of Delhi in secluded locations on different days.
