Video of Manu Bhaker’s Mother Speaking to Javelin Champion Neeraj Chopra Goes Viral, Here’s Why

Netizens can’t seem to get enough of the video where Manu Bhaker’s mother is seen speaking to Javelin star Neeraj Chopra.

Internet viewers were amused seeing Sumedha Bhaker having a hearty conversation with Neeraj Chopra.

While some were eager to know about the subject of the conversation, others light-heartedly joked that she was gauging whether he was a suitable choice for her daughter.

That being said, Manu Bhaker’s father, Ram Kishen, immediately put a stop to the rumours. He told Dainik Bhasker, “Manu is still very young. She is not even of marriageable age. Not even thinking about it right now.”

Speaking about the viral video that shows his wife speaking to Neeraj Chopra, he said, “Manu's mother considers Neeraj like her son.”

Not only Manu’s father but Neeraj’s uncle too, gave his take on the topic. “Just as Neeraj brought the medal, the entire country got to know about it. Similarly, when he marries, then everyone will know,” he told the outlet. Both sports stars hail from the state of Haryana.

Another video of Manu Bhaker speaking with Neeraj went viral on social media. Both the medallists were seen having a conversation at an event organized by the Indian contingent in Paris.

Manu Bhaker created history when she became the first Indian woman athlete, since independence, to win two medals in a single Olympic event. Bhaker is the fifth Indian shooter to earn an Olympic medal, joining the ranks of Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Abhinav Bindra. Her penchant for shooting began at the age of fourteen after the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics with a best throw of 87.58 metres. He won a silver medal at this year’s Paris Olympics. At the Paris Olympics he managed one valid throw of 89.45m in six throws.

“It was a good throw but I’m not that happy with my performance today,” Neeraj said after the event, adding, “My technique and runway was not that good. (I managed) only one throw, the rest I fouled”, he said.
