Two Aspiring American Models Found Dead in Their Luxury Los Angeles Apartments
The police are actively investigating whether there is any link between the two incidents, but they have not yet verified any connection.
Within a span of a few days, two American aspiring models were found dead in their luxury apartments in Los Angeles, leaving their families in a state of shock.
31 year old model Maleesa Mooney was found dead in her downtown LA apartment on September 12 according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
Ironically two days earlier another model by the name of Nichole Coats, 32, was found dead in her apartment which was less than a mile away.
On performing a welfare check, after Maleesa Mooney’s parents informed officials of her absence, they found her body in her apartment at around 3:45 pm.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed that her death is being treated as a homicide.
Exact cause of her death remains unknown.
In a similar manner, welfare check officials had visited Nichole Coats home at 10 am however no one responded. Her dead body was found later by her cousin.
Coats' family believe that it was a murder.
“I believe it was murder, I really do. One of her legs was up in the air in a kicking position. That's not somebody who just laid in their bed and died”, Nichole’s aunt, May Stevens, said.
“This is senseless and I want some answers because my daughter is gone. And it's not fair. I want everybody to find out who did this to her. She shouldn't be gone, Nichole’s mother, Sharon Coats, told KTLA.
Nichole Coats’ death will soon fall under the purview of homicide after the LA County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner's submits a report.
The two families believe that there may be a link between the two deaths. They’re not ruling out the possibility of a serial killer.
“We just want to know what happened … It just doesn't seem right … Is there a correlation between these two females? Is there a correlation? They were both almost in the same area … we need to make sure that this isn't something else because it just didn't seem right,'' Ms Coats' cousin Sheniya Mason told ABC 7.
The mysterious cases are under investigation.
