The Latest Picture of the Loch Ness Monster Clicked by a 12 Year-Old-Girl
The latest picture of the Loch Ness monster clicked by a 12-year-old-girl Charlotte, has been termed the best picture of the mysterious creature.
A 12-year-old girl managed to click a picture of the Loch Ness monster which is one of its kind. Charlotte Robinson, from Leeds in Yorkshire, was holidaying in Invermoriston when Nessie showed up. It was the first day of her stay and she was lucky to get a visual of the mysterious monster.
Charlotte saw the Loch Ness-like creature at around 7 pm and clicked a picture of it with her iPhone 7.
The monster was 50-feet away when it surfaced for a minute and after a few minutes, it re-surfaced about ten feet further away.
The 12-year-old girl, Charlotte was holidaying with her parents Kat, 41, a business intelligence data analyst, and father Dave, 52, a factory worker.
The girl’s parents were not so lucky when they stayed at the same place 16 years ago. They did not get to see anything then.
This what Charlotte said, “There was something in the water about 50 feet from the shore. I took a photo. It had a neck and head was in the shape of a hook.”
She added, “I just took what I saw. It was black – I just don’t know how far it was out of the water. I’m not good at judging distances.
“But after about a minute it disappeared and then came back up again in a different place. It was up for less than a minute the second time. I kinda believed in Nessie, but I wanted to see the proof. I always imagined her as having a long neck and flippers."
“I have seen something but I’m not sure what.”
Charlotte’s mother was skeptical about it when her daughter told her that she had taken a picture of the Loch Ness monster. Her mother Kat said, ”Charlotte said she had taken a photo of a creature in the loch and I said ‘right, sure you have!’ For weeks she’s been going on about seeing the Loch Ness Monster.
“But when I saw the picture, I couldn’t believe it. Something’s there. With all the sightings over the years there must be something in the loch.”
Steve Feltham a Nessie expert has termed the picture as one of the best. According to his words,“I am totally excited by this photograph – it is the best of Nessie in years.
Steve Feltham has been trying to solve the mystery of the Loch Ness monster for the past 27 years. He is excited by the picture and says it should be studied. He said, “There is clearly a solid object in it and it is relatively clear. It warrants further study.” He added, “There may be a mundane explanation such as a seal, but I have not heard of a seal in the loch this year. For my money it is larger than a seal or an ottter. It is a fantastic picture. Congratulations Charlotte. I am totally excited by it.”
Previous sightings
This year the Loch Ness monster was quite generous as there were four official sightings.
The last sighting occurred on August 5 at 9.38 am. The elusive monster was seen by a family from Leeds and visits the place regularly.
The sighting was accepted by the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings' Register.
"After travelling from Drumnadrochit to Fort Augustus they looked out at the loch and spotted a strange looking lump on the surface of the water, which was very still and quiet at the time," said the register.
"It looked dark brown in colour and 'sort of like an upturned boat'.
"They revisited the area by boat in the afternoon and there was nothing like that in that area. Unfortunately, because they were driving and couldn't pull in, they didn't manage to get any pictures."
There was another sighting of the Loch Ness Monster in the moonlight in the month of June. It was recorded in front of an 11-year-old girl. Natalie Hodgson from Yorkshire came on a holiday with her family and took a picture of a head of a creature seen in the moonlight at around 10.30pm on June 1 from the Highland Lodges holiday park where they were staying. It was there for a few minutes and then it disappeared.
On April 30, hospital clerical worker Eoin O'Faodhagain from Donegal shot a video of the Loch Ness Monster from the Loch Ness webcam. In the video, the creature is seen moving right to left while swimming towards its favorite place – the Urquhart Bay.
