Stuck in Space, Sunita Williams And Butch Willmore to Stay in Space for One More Month as The Crew-9 Mission Was Delayed
NASA has confirmed the delay of the Boeing Starliner and claims issues in Jet propulsion. Sunita Williams to return a month later.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration announced their delay in launching the Crew 9 mission because of a technical glitch with the Boeing Starliner. The said date of delay is around 1 month which can cause sustenance issues for American Astronaut, Sunita Williams.
NASA confirmed that the delay would help them evaluate the readiness of the Boeing Starliner. NASA Press release claimed, "Starliner ground teams are taking their time to analyze the results of recent docked hot-fire testing, finalize flight rationale for the spacecraft’s integrated propulsion system, and confirm system reliability ahead of Starliner’s return to Earth."
However, there is no return date fixed by the Spaceliner, the technical team is constantly updating the systems so that it can be launched in a month and aimed to bring Sunita Wiliams and Butch Willmore. The press release indicated an anomaly with the Jet propulsion system which can create issues while taking off or exiting the orbit.
The Starliner Crew Flight Test is the first mission of the newly developed capsule by Boeing. Thus, taking risks with innovation can be tough for the lives of the Astronauts. Stuck for nearly 2 months, Sunita Williams and Butch Willmore will now have to wait for a few more days before they can be brought back. NASA will organize a press conference where it will list out the Crew-9 mission members.
