A couple of days back a disturbing video of a small boy playing beside the dead body of his mother on a railway platform in Bihar made headlines.
The viral video had caught the attention of masses across India and highlighted the tragic plight of migrant workers, one of the most affected sections of the society, during the lockdown.
The statement issued by the railway read that the mother died of heart ailments although her relatives said that she died of hunger. The future of the child remained uncertain.
Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel! Shahrukh Khan has come forward to support the child. Shahrukh Khan’s foundation ‘Meer Foundation’ was quick to trace the child. He is currently with his grandparents.

Shahrukh tweeted that he knows well how it feels to lose a parent and thus he would always be there to support “the little one.”
“Thank you all for getting us in touch with the little one. We all pray he finds the strength to deal with the most unfortunate loss of a parent. I know how it feels...Our love and support is with you baby,” he tweeted.
Shahrukh’s Meer foundation is doing fabulous work when it comes to helping people in dire straits. It is working towards procuring supplies such as PPE kits, ventilator, masks, gloves and other healthcare kits that would protect the healthcare warriors who are leading the coronavirus battle.
They’ve also lent their support to the victims of cyclone Amphan that devastated West Bengal a couple of weeks back.
