Randeep Hooda And Lin Laishram Tie The Knot in Traditional Manipuri Style

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda got married to model Lin Laishram in an intimate wedding ceremony in Langthabal, West Imphal.

The actor posted the lovely wedding pictures on Instagram just hours after the wedding ceremony.

“From today, we are One,” the simple caption read alongside the photographs.

Dressed in traditional wedding manipuri ensembles, Randeep and Lin made a wonderful couple.

Randeep looked dapper in a white kurta coupled with a turban while Lin looked graceful in a black and red manipuri wedding ensemble coupled with heavy gold accessories.

Lin carried the traditional cylindrical Poloi or Raslila Skirt elegantly. This traditional skirt is made of thick fabric and usually comes in bright shades of pink, yellow or green.

The photographs affirm that the newlyweds have given importance to the rich Manipuri tradition and culture. Unlike other grand Bollywood weddings that took place in the past months, this couple chose to keep it sweet and simple.

Lin also reshared a few pre-wedding pictures shared by her family and friends.

Though Randeep Hooda hails from Haryana, he seemed very enthusiastic about getting married following the Manipuri tradition. He expressed, “It feels very good. I felt that it's only respectful to come and marry in the bride's tradition. Though I have heard that in Meitei love marriages, the groom has to sit for a very long time. So, that's something but I am looking forward to the ceremony and traditions. I want to experience my life partner's culture. That's why I am here.”

“I hope I don't make any mistakes. And we have been talking about their culture, Manipuri culture and all that for a long time. I am really looking forward to it and hope that all goes well. I am praying for our happy future and lots of kids and lots of abundance. Yes, it's east meets west. It's like a traditional or cultural exchange.”

Lin and Randeep have been friends for a long time. Both were members of Motley, Naseeruddin Shah’s theatre group.

On the work front, Randeep Hooda will be seen in upcoming projects like 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar' and ‘Unfair and Lovely.’
