Post-Apocalyptic Movie Kalki 2898 AD Surpasses The Rs. 550 Crore Mark

Kalki 2898 AD is creating waves at the box office worldwide by making tremendous profits. The dystopian film that features Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in pivotal roles, collected Rs. 191.5 crore worldwide on the opening day.

It has already surpassed the Rs. 550 crore mark! Kalki 2898 AD released in multiple languages on June 27.

The epic saga’s opening collection exceeded blockbuster Jawan’s opening collection in 2023 which was Rs. 75 crore on its first day.

Nag Ashwin’s film has also made history by becoming the first Indian movie to earn $11million in its first weekend in North America. Kalki has also emerged as the highest earning Telugu film in Canada.

The movie is said to be a “cinematic marvel” and has a “compelling storyline.” It is a mix of science fiction and Mahabharatha.

Goutam S of Pinkvilla gave it 4/5 stars and wrote “If you are a lover of films which has a grand scale, epic narration, amazing visuals, groundbreaking performances, and unbelievable storytelling, then surely watch this feast of a movie in the screens near you.”

In a review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the film 2.5 stars out of 5 and he wrote, “On the acting front, Prabhas leads the way and not only because the film revolves around him. His strong presence serves as a counterpoint to Amitabh Bachchan's towering Ashwatthama - the deathless warrior is an eight-footer. The latter's voice is, as always, an integral part of the character. Deepika Padukone, playing one of the central figures, is splendid as the pregnant woman on the run. Saswata Chatterjee, as the bad guy who shoots lethal laser rays from his fist, has his moments in a film that often lets spectacle overwhelm everything else that it is trying to convey about mankind and the dangers it faces due to its own profligate ways.”

Actors like Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have praised the film.
