Oldest Man on Earth Masazo Nonaka Died at the Age 113 Years
Nonaka was born on 25th July 1905 in the Ashoro town near Hokkaido in Japan. It was when Albert Einstein first published his theory of relativity.
Masazo Nonaka the oldest man on earth died at the age of 113 years on Sunday. He was recognized by the Guinness World Records last year as the oldest living man on earth. Masazo’s granddaughter Yuko Nonako informed the media that Nonaka died peacefully on Sunday at his home. She also said that he appeared to be normal until her elder sister noticed he was not breathing, “We feel shocked at the loss of this big figure. He was as usual yesterday and passed away without causing our family any fuss at all”.
He was declared dead by his family doctor. Yuko Nonako said, “He didn’t have any health problem. He went peacefully and that’s at least our consolation”.
Guinness World Records, officially recognized Masazo Nonaka as the oldest living man on earth, last year after the death of Spaniard Francisco Nunez Olivera, who also died at the age of 113 years.
Nonaka lived at his home in Ashoro with his family. He used to run a hot spring inn from his home, which was also more than 100 years old. After his retirement from work, he used a wheelchair, but he could do much of his work himself. He enjoyed eating sweets after a meal preferably an ice cream, watching television, reading newspapers and love to take hot spring bath, once a week.
Married in the year 1931, he had two sons and three daughters. His wife died in the year 1992. Nonaka outlived his wife and three of their five children.
Japan is the fastest aging country in the world with the largest number of aged population. The record for oldest man ever is also held by a Japanese named Jiroemon Kimura, who died on 12th June 2013 at the age of 116 years and 54 days, according to Guinness World Records.
According to a survey presented by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on September 2018, it was found that Japan has 69,785 centenarian population and around 90% of them are women. Even the world’s oldest living woman on earth is also a Japanese. Kane Tanaka, the 116-year-old woman is from Fukuoka on the southern main island of Kyushu.
