Air hostess turned actress Noor Malabika Das was found dead at her rented flat in Mumbai’s Lokhandwala area. The actress reportedly died on June 6, however, her body was found four days later. She was 37 and allegedly died by suicide.

The actress was last seen working with Kajol in the legal drama ‘The Trial’

Noor hails from Karimganj, a small town in Assam. Her family said that she moved to Mumbai with an aspiration to create a career in the entertainment film industry. Her family further revealed that Noor was in a state of depression. She wanted to become a successful actress, however, it was a difficult path infused with challenges.

Noor’s aunt Arati Das addressed the media from hometown Karimganj. She said, “She went to Mumbai with big hopes to become an actress. However, she was fighting hard to achieve this. We understand that Malabika was unsatisfied with her achievements, which forced to take the extreme step.”

All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called upon Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis to thoroughly investigate the case and rule out any foul play.

Police said that they broke open the flat after residents complained of foul smell from her Oshiwara home. When they entered the flat they discovered her decomposed body.

Her body was cremated by friend and actor Aloknath Pathak with the help of Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO. Her elderly parents had just returned to Assam after visiting her and thus couldn’t make it for their daughter’s cremation.
