Neena Gupta’s Autobiography ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ Reveals Interesting Facets of Her Life

Actress Neena Gupta has finally come up with her much-awaited autobiography titled ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ published by Penguin India. 

The title of the book ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ is apt as the book encompasses details of her life that are less known to the public. 

The book was launched by Kareena Kapoor in an Instagram session. Thanking Kareena, Neena Gupta wrote, “Thank you so so so very much @kareenakapoorkhan, for launching my first book. It means a lot to me.”

Neena revealed that she desired to write a book on her life’s journey many years back although the thought that nobody will be interested to read her book, dissuaded her from writing. 

It was during the lockdown period when she was with her husband at her Mukhteshwar house when she decided that she would pen down her journey. 

‘Sach Kahun Toh’ chronicles Neena’s fascinating journey from her childhood days in Delhi to her acting days in Mumbai where she struggled to find work. It covers her single parenting phase and her life’s choices that have often come under the media and public’s scanner. 

Neena and West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards were in a relationship and are parents to Masaba Gupta. She revealed an interesting anecdote when she was pregnant for Masaba. 

Many friends offered to marry her when she was pregnant and one among them was famous film director Satish Kaushik. “A few friends suggested I get married to someone so my child would have a name and a father figure,” she wrote in her book. 

“Satish Kaushik, such a wonderful friend, called and said, 'Nancy (his nickname for me since college), don't worry. If the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it's mine and we'll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing'.”

Neena Gupta refused the offer but this act of Satish Kaushik touched her immensely. “I found this offer so sweet that I had tears in my eyes. The fact that he was ready to sacrifice his own chance at true love and happiness for me was very touching but I politely refused.”

Interesting and hilarious anecdotes such as these are infused in Neena’s ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ which clearly arouses curiosity to read about her enthralling life. Neena Gupta admitted that the things she’s been hiding for years is finally out and that’s a very big relief.
