Mumbai Building Collapses in Malad, 11 People Lose Their Lives
Many are still feared trapped under the debris and evacuation operations are underway, officials said.

11 people including 8 children lost their lives when a double-storey building fell on another structure at a slum in Mumbai’s Malad last Wednesday night.
7 injuries have been reported. The incident took place when the city witnessed heavy rainfall throughout the day.
According to the BMC disaster management cell the incident was reported from the New Collector compound slum on Abdul Hamid road in Malvani gate no 8 area.
The BMC has also evacuated people from a nearby three-storey building which is in a dilapidated condition.
The injured have been rescued and have been sent to a hospital in suburban Kandivali hospital.
Search and rescue operations are underway. The local Malwani police and fire brigade officials are at the spot.
