Live Rodents Were Found in Food Packets Served to Passengers. Flight Makes An Emergency Landing

A flight from Norway to Malaga was diverted, and an emergency landing was made after a live rodent was found in one of the passengers' meals. Following protocols, the flight made an emergency landing and was thoroughly scrutinized for any small animals. The CAA made a mandate where live animals especially rodents and rats can risk the electrical wiring of the flights.

As Oystein Schmidt, a senior spokesperson from the airline mentioned in a statement that ''This is something that happens extremely rarely. We have established procedures for such situations, which also include a review with our suppliers to ensure this does not happen again.''

A passenger named Jarle Borrestad said in a statement ''Believe it or not. A lady next to me at SAS opened the food and jumped a mouse out. Now we have turned around and landed at CPH [Copenhagen Airport] for flight changes.” He further added that he had pulled his socks, putting his trousers in the socks to ensure the mouse didn't crawl up.

However, other passengers showed no sign of stress or discomfort and they were able to understand the situation and acted calmly. After a few hours of delay, the aircraft was changed and the passengers were able to fly back to Malaga.
