Lisa Kudrow who played the famous Phoebe Buffay in ‘Friends’ said that ‘Friends’ reunion will definitely happen.
Besides “other things” are also lined up along with the reunion. The reunion special had to be suspended temporarily due to the coronavirus crisis.
“It's definitely going to happen. (The planning) was pretty far along, but it seemed pretty clear that if people can't gather then we can't do it... We just keep putting dates in the calendar. When we can do it, we will do it,” Kudrow, 51, said.
Due to the current crisis, Kudrow was asked if the reunion will be shot virtually however Kudrow said that there were no talks of this as of now. WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer chairman Bob Greenblatt said in May that they are hoping to shoot the reunion by the end of this summer however if the lockdown continues the reunion may take a “virtual” turn.
Reminiscing her days as Phoebe, Lisa Kudrow said that she was “proud” to be a part of the ‘Friends’ team and that she has never stopped loving the show. “It's funny -- I remember shooting the first years and the very end much better than the middle years, but it's great that it's still shown on TV.”
Lisa is also glad that youngsters today, who were not even born when the show was made, are “big fans” of the series
Her role as Phoebe was appreciated immensely and in fact, she’ll always remain associated with Phoebe Buffay. The actress has admitted earlier that she had a tough time doing the role as that wasn’t really her character.
“I think people will always associate me with Phoebe and that's fine. I don't have any complaints about that at all,” she said. “But also, I do get to play other kinds of people -- especially if I write it and produce it by myself. I don't feel like I'm struggling to break away from Phoebe at all.”
