Lemon Tree Hotel Chain Signs up New Property in Nepal

India’s largest hotel chain in the mid-priced hotel sector, Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, on Monday said that it has now come up with the latest offer from the stable– Bhangeri Durbar Resort (operated by Lemon Tree Hotels), at Nagarkot in Nepal. The group, which is also the third-largest hotel chain on the basis of controlling interest in owned and leased rooms, said that the group’s subsidiary and management arm, Carnation Hotels Pvt. Ltd will run the new resort. The hotel project, owned by Bhangeri Durbar Resort Pvt Ltd, is expected to be thrown open by early 2021.

The picturesque resort, spread over a sprawling 4 acre of beautiful, landscaped terrain, will feature 51 well-appointed rooms and lavish suites, a multi-cuisine restaurant, a thriving bar, well-equipped banquet spaces, a heated swimming pool, a rejuvenating spa, and a terrace deck. Set in the lap of a dense forest area, rich in mountain medicinal herbs and other flora and fauna, the resort also offers a spectacular view of the Himalayas, including the 5 highest mountain peaks of Nepal, viz. Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and Cho Oyu, as well as panoramic views of the stunning Kathmandu valley. The property falls within the famous Panoramic Hiking Trail of nearly 15 km from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel. It is named after the historic Bhangeri Durbar Palace, which was built by King Chandra Samsher over a century ago, and is located just 1.5 kilometre from the resort.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rattan Keswani, Deputy Managing Director – Lemon Tree Hotels and Director – Carnation Hotels, commented that they are delighted to expand our reach in Nepal with this stunning resort. Incidentally, it is the hotel chain’s second signing for a hotel in the country, which they feel holds immense business and tourism potential. Nepal is always a preferred destination for Indian tourists, and with their widespread reach and exciting loyalty programme, they feel that this hotel will add value to their customers and vice versa. The hotel chain will also add to its repertoire of hotels internationally. The international portfolio includes their existing hotel in Dubai and upcoming international launches in Thimphu, Bhutan and Kathmandu, Nepal, he said.

The hotel group operates in the upscale segment and in the mid-priced sector, consisting of the upper-midscale, midscale and economy segments. It delivers differentiated yet superior service offerings, with a value-for-money proposition.
