Justin Baldoni Denies Fat Shaming Blake Lively on The Sets of ‘It Ends With Us’
It Ends With Us Director, Justin Baldoni, files 250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times.
Justin Baldoni filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times, naming actor Ryan Reynolds in the case on Tuesday.
The complaint alleges that Ryan Reynolds berated Justin over comments made about Blake Lively’s weight during the filming of It Ends With Us.
According to Justin, who directed It Ends With Us, the comments were made due to concerns about his back issues, as he wanted to ensure he could lift Blake Lively in one of the scenes. He never intended to fat shame her. As per Baldoni, the confrontation with Ryan Reynolds was intense.
The article in The New York Times titled ‘We Can Bury Anyone: Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine’ was published on December 21. According to Justin’s legal team, the publication presented a one-sided narrative. It magnified the harassment allegations against Baldoni without adequate examination.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson from the publication defended the article describing it as ‘meticulous and responsible’. They are prepared to defend against the lawsuit.
Earlier, Blake Lively had also brought forward a sexual harassment lawsuit against Justin Baldoni. Baldoni’s team has dismissed the charges calling them ‘false and outrageous.’
Blake has filed a new lawsuit in a federal court, New York, submitting an 80 page complaint at California Civil Rights Department. She has also received support from the many celebs in Hollywood.
