Jennifer Lopez Files for Divorce from Ben Affleck in a Los Angeles Court

Jennifer Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, 52, on Tuesday. The highly publicized couple were married for the past two years.

The singer and actress filed divorce papers at a Los Angeles court.

At the moment, representatives from both the parties declined to comment on the matter.

The couple popularly dubbed as ‘Bennifer’ by the media, first met on the sets of the 2003 movie Gigli. They had planned to get married that year, but unfortunately, the marriage plans were called off. Lopez cited the constant media attention as one of the main reasons for their breakup. They remained friends after the break-up.

Surprisingly, they tied the knot years later in July 2022 in Las Vegas. This was followed by a larger wedding ceremony in Georgia for family and friends in August.

Reports suggest that Jennifer Lopez did not list any details of a prenuptial agreement in her petition for divorce.

Both Jennifer and Ben have to give a financial disclosure to the court.

Speculation over the pair’s divorce has been doing the rounds for months. Both were pictured separately on several occasions without their wedding rings.

Their high-profile relationship has always been the focus of the media and tabloids.

Ironically, the divorce was filed on August 20 which happens to be their second wedding anniversary.
