Internet, however, saw a different and more humble side of one of the world’s richest people, this week, when a former employee of Microsoft posted a picture of Gates standing in a line outside a fast food joint in Seattle, waiting to get a burger and some fries.
It became viral on social media platforms, as it is the photo of one of the world’s richest men dressed down in simple jacket and pants, hands inside his pockets and patiently waiting in line for his food like an ordinary man, reflected the simplicity of Gates.
Mike Galos, who is a former program manager at Microsoft wrote on Facebook, “When you’re worth about $100,000,000,000, run the largest charity in the history of the world and stand in line for a burger, fries and Coke at Dick's like the rest of us”.
He also added, “THIS is how real rich people behave unlike the gold toilet seat wannabe poser in the White House”, in an apparent swipe at US President Donald Trump. Several Twitter users also joined in the discussion featuring Gate. Mike Galos also said, that he didn’t click the photo, but has found the photo on a closed Microsoft alumni board. The post has been shared more than 17000 times so far.
63 years old Microsoft founder Bill Gates, in reality, is an approachable person and time to time he makes effort to mingle with ordinary people, which makes him different from others, as in such a status anyone would not have done so.
The billionaire founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, who is also a serious fast food lover, is known for his love of burgers and is a regular customer at Burger Master, which is a local fast food joint in Bellevue, Washington, where he lives.
In 2011, during an appearance at the University of Washington, during a talk with the young adults, Gates shared about what being crazy rich is like, “I can understand wanting to have millions of dollars, there’s a certain freedom, meaningful freedom, that comes with that”. Gates also added, “But once you get much beyond that, I have to tell you, it’s the same hamburger. Dick's has not raised their prices enough”.
