Indian Origin Man Buries Ex-Girlfriend Alive in Australia after Getting Jilted

In a shocking incident in Australia, a man of Indian origin, bound his ex-girlfriend's legs with cables and buried her alive in an act of vengeance.

The accused Tarikjot Singh couldn’t bear that the victim Jasmeen Kaur ended their relationship. He killed her in March 2021.

Jasmeen Kaur, 21, who was a nursing student had registered a police complaint that she had been stalked by 22 year old Tarikjot Singh.

According to a news.com.au report Jasmeen Kaur, 21, was kidnapped from her workplace on March 5, 2021.

He drove for about 650 km while Jasmeen was bound by cables in the boot of the car. He made “superficial cuts” on her throat that were not deep enough to kill her. He then buried her alive in a shallow grave in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges.

It is believed that Kaur had to endure absolute terror.” She was blindfolded and was conscious of her surroundings when she died.

“She had to have been consciously suffering what could only be described as the absolute terror of breathing in and swallowing soil and dying in that way,” prosecutor Carmen Matteo said.

The way in which Kaur was killed involved, really, an uncommon level of cruelty,” Matteo said.

“It’s not known when her throat was cut, it’s not known when or how she got into or was placed into that burial grave, and it’s not known when that was dug, other than the prosecution says it had to have been while she was still alive and in preparation for her burial,” she added.

“(It was) a killing that was committed as an act of vengeance or as an act of revenge,” she said.

Jasmeen Kaur’s mother said that Tarikjot Singh was obsessed with her daughter. He couldn’t bear the fact that the relationship had come to an end. He forcefully wanted to marry her but she declined 100 times.

In the initial stages of investigation, Singh denied the charges. He said that Jasmeen died by suicide and he buried her body later. Earlier this year, Singh admitted to the crime before he could stand for trial. He took the police to the burial site where they found her shoes, glasses and her work badge.

Her employer described her as a “‘beautiful soul who was kind and sweet to residents”, an ABC report said

On Wednesday Singh pleaded guilty to the murder.

The accused faces a life sentence while his lawyer has labelled the murder as a “crime of passion.”
