Concert goers and media have been alarmed by the sudden death of a young music enthusiast during Taylor Swift’s concert in Rio de Janeiro.
A 23 year old woman, Ana Clara Benevides Machado, collapsed and died due to two cardiac arrests during the concert on Friday. Her death however is still under investigation.
South East Brazil is currently experiencing a heatwave. Temperatures are soaring and have reached more than 40 degree celsius. Humidity too is at an all time high.
According to reports, people were not allowed to carry water bottles inside the stadium despite the scorching heat.There was no arrangements of water inside which was also noticed by the singer. She was seen throwing a bottle of water towards someone in the audience.
Reports suggest that concert goers complained about heat and fatigue.
After the tragedy, Swift’s performance which was to take place on friday has been postponed to Monday when temperatures are expected to be lower. This change was announced just two hours before she could go on stage.
Taylor’s ‘The Eras Tour’ will continue from November 24 and conclude on November 26.
