Gwyneth Paltrow is in the news for being part of a Utah trial due to a ski accident that happened over seven years ago.
The actress is being sued by Terry Sanderson who is a 76 year old optometrist. According to Mr Sanderson the actress crashed into him at the Deer Valley Resort.
He also alleged that the crash left him with a concussion, four broken ribs and permanent brain injury.
Sanderson has sued the actress for $300,000. Paltrow has countersued for $1, plus attorneys’ fees.
Gwyneth Paltrow has a different side to the story.
Paltrow alleges that it was Mr Sanderson who crashed into her from behind while she was watching her children ski downhill.
In the beginning she thought that the accident was a sexual assault.
“I was skiing and two skis came between my skis, forcing my legs apart,” she said.
“My brain was trying to make sense of what was happening,” she said. “I thought, ‘Is this a practical joke?
Ironically during the trial Mrs Paltrow was asked if she was friends with Taylor Swift and whether she was inspired to sue Mr Sanderson for $1 by Taylor Swift's legal battle against radio DJ David Mueller in 2017.
Gwyneth Paltrow and her lawyers claim that Mr Sanderson is trying to “exploit her celebrity and wealth.”
