India heartily celebrated the arrival of its first Generation Beta baby on January 1, New Year’s Day, in the city of Aizawl, Mizoram.

Generation Beta babies will be way ahead of us when it comes to exposure to technology. Their digital skills and knowledge will be at greater levels.
In the years to come, they will have access to better medical facilities, thereby enhancing their overall quality of life and increasing their lifespans. There will be groundbreaking discoveries, including cures for many life-threatening diseases we face today.
Futurist Mark McCrindle coined the term 'Gen Beta' to define babies born between 2025 and 2039. Many of these babies will live to see the 22nd century.
In a blogpost, Mark explained that the last generations, named alpha and beta, “signify not just new generations, but the first generations that will be shaped by an entirely different world.”
“That is why we moved to the Greek alphabet, to signify how these different generations will be raised in a new world of technological integration,” it added. This generation will live “in an era where AI (artificial intelligence) and automation are fully embedded in everyday life, from education and workplaces to healthcare and entertainment.”
They “will grow up in a world shaped by breakthroughs in technology, evolving social norms, and an increasing focus on sustainability and global citizenship.”
Since these babies will witness rapidly changing environments, this generation will also be highly adaptable.
