Five Year Old Boy Travels from Delhi to Bangalore All Alone Amidst the Outbreak

Among the hundreds of passengers who arrived at Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, one of them was a five year old boy named Vihaan Sharma. What’s interesting is this traveller travelled all alone from Delhi to Bangalore amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

His family left him to his grandparent’s place in Delhi for the holidays. Unfortunately, he couldn’t return after the coronavirus outbreak and had to live without his parents for three months.

The person who came to welcome the boy at the airport was none other than his mother. She was of course overjoyed to see him after 3 months amidst the scary outbreak. “He has travelled alone, coming back to Bengaluru after three months,” she said.

According to passengers who were traveling after a long break, the guidelines implemented in the Bengaluru airport were strict. They followed a contactless procedure that began right from the parking lot to boarding that involved minimum touch. Social distancing was strictly maintained inside the airport.

“Contactless would be the buzzword at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru when operations resume from May 25,” the BIAL had said in a statement on Sunday.

The passengers who were departing had to undergo thermal screening, given masks, sanitizers before proceeding for security check.

During the security check, passengers had to scan the boarding pass at the kiosk and place essential belongings in a tray. The tray was sanitized after every use.

Body scanning was done using Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD). New guidelines prohibited stamping of the boarding passes as per the directions of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Passengers who came in from the red zone areas boarded the BMTC buses and were taken to hotels to be quarantined for 7 days.
