It was said that Benjamin Keough the only grandson of Elvis Presley rarely made an appearance in public. He didn’t seem to enjoy the spotlight.
His mother Lisa Presley said that he had an “uncanny” resemblance to his father. Liza Marie is Elvis’s only child from his marriage to Priscilla Presley.
The young lad was only 27 when his body was found in his family’s luxurious Calabasas mansion near Los Angeles with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his torso.
According to the neighbours, Liza was not seen at the mansion for several days.
Lisa Marie’s manager Roger Widynowski confirmed this tragic news. The manager said that Lisa was “devastated” on hearing the news but had to remain strong for her daughters.
“She adored that boy. He was the love of her life”, he revealed.
Benjamin’s father Danny Keough and his mother were musicians. His sister Riley Keough is a prominent actress in the independent film industry and has appeared in films like ‘The Lodge.’
It is believed that Benjamin was pursuing a career in film and music. There are unconfirmed reports that he has appeared in a number of movies.
According to Daily Mail a neighbour heard them partying at the residence at 1am and a woman who is allegedly his girlfriend shouted, “Don’t do it!” Police have questioned the girlfriend hours after his death.
Benjamin is said to have signed a $5 million record deal when he was a teen however his career didn’t seem to take off in that area.
The investigations concerning his death are underway and the reasons behind him taking his life remain unknown as of now. His tragic death has left his mother with whom he shared a close bond, “heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated.”
