Television host and American Comedian Ellen DeGeneres has decided to call it quits when it comes to her popular sitcom ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’
On May 12 she told Hollywood Reporter that the upcoming 19th season on Daytime TV will be the last.
The show made its debut on September 8 2003 and has received 61 Emmy Awards.
People may assume that the toxic work culture of the show was what coerced Ellen to ultimately resign although that’s not the case.
She revealed that she doesn’t feel challenged anymore when it comes to her work of anchoring the show.
“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged — and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Last year DeGeneres faced accusations that the show she was hosting was a platform of toxic work culture. She was not accused of any wrongdoing; although other senior producers were under the scanner.
Ellen revealed that she came to know about the toxic work culture only through the press and she took the necessary actions to conduct an internal investigation.
She made it clear to the publication that this was not the reason whatsoever for her exiting the show.
“It was very hurtful to me. I mean, very,” Ellen told the trade publication.
“But if I was quitting the show because of that, I wouldn't have come back this season. So, it's not why I'm stopping.”
“All I cared about was spreading kindness and compassion, and everything I stand for was being attacked. So, it destroyed me, honestly.”
Oprah Winfrey is said to be the guest on the show this Thursday and talks would primarily be about wrapping up the show.
Ellen rightfully became the 12th highest-paid celebrity in the world due to earnings from the popular show.
Ellen DeGeneres was bestowed with the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2015 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom under Barack Obama in 2016. Ellen married Portia de Rossi in August 2008 and they currently live in Beverly Hills, California.
