The greatest footballer of all time Diego Maradona will be celebrating his 60th birthday on Friday in self-isolation after his bodyguard displayed coronavirus symptoms. He was in contact with his bodyguard during the weekend.
Though the footballer is not showing any signs of COVID-19, he will undergo testing on Thursday.
This is the second time he is under quarantine. He self-isolated himself earlier when one of the Argentinean players contracted the virus.
Maradona is taking special precautions because he had a string of health problems in recent years. He suffered two heart attacks and had contracted hepatitis.
Despite being in quarantine, the football legend dreams of marking his 60th birthday in style. In an interview with France Football, he said that he dreams to “score another goal against England, this time with my right hand.”
He spoke this in reference to his famed ‘Hand of God’ goal against England in the1986 World Cup Quarter Finals.
The legendary footballer who created magic in the field was known for his ball control, dribbling and leadership skills that gave him an edge over others and which is why he was often singled out by the opposite team.
He played his first world cup tournament in 1982; however the team was ousted from the tournament in the second round.
He was transferred to FC Barcelona in Spain for a world record fee of 5 million, winning the Copa del Ray and the Spanish Super Cup. He led Argentina to victory against West Germany in 1986 in Mexico.
At present Diego Maradona is the coach of Argentine Primera División club called Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata. We wish the football legend all the best on his upcoming 60th Birthday.
