Dia Mirza Responds to Her Follower with the Most Apt Answer Concerning Her Pregnancy Announcement
Actress Dia Mirza has been in the news after she recently made her pregnancy announcement.
Actress Dia Mirza has been in the news after she recently made her pregnancy announcement after she tied the knot with Vaibhav Rekhi in February.
She shared a photograph of herself with a conspicuous baby bump on her Insta handle. While many online users including celebrities like Kubra Sait, Dino Morea, and Bipasha Basu congratulated her, there was one follower in particular who questioned Dia on the timing of the announcement.
She questioned Dia on why she made the pregnancy announcement after the marriage and not before.
“That’s so good, congrats. But the problem is, she tried to break the stereotypes with a woman priest, why she couldn’t she announce her pregnancy before the marriage?”, the follower questioned Dia.
As expected of Dia Mirza, she responded to the commenter with utmost grace and dignity.
Dia explained that she discovered that she was pregnant while they were planning their wedding. She didn’t disclose the news earlier due to medical reasons, that is until they knew that it was safe.
In response to the commenter Dia explained, “Interesting question. Firstly, we didn't marry because we were having a baby together. We were already marrying as we wanted to spend our lives together. We discovered we were going to have a baby while we were planning our wedding. So this marriage is not the result of pregnancy. We didn't announce the pregnancy until we knew its safe (medical reasons). This is the happiest news of my life. I've waited for many many years for this to happen. No way I would hide it for any reason other than medical.”
Dia Mirza gave the most apt answer to her follower’s question that the announcement had nothing to do with stereotypes and neither had she desired to hide it as having a child is a beautiful gift but it had more to do with a personal choice (medical reasons).
As individuals we have a choice to keep the important events in our lives private or make it public. It depends on the situation, circumstances and the personal life of that particular individual including a celebrity.
Finally Dia concluded her response with these thought-provoking lines, “ As a society we must un stereotype our idea of what is right or wrong, instead train ourselves to ask what is fair or unfair.”
Dia Mirza tied the knot with Vaibhav Rekhi on February 15 in a private ceremony. This is her second marriage. On their recent trip to Maldives, Vaibhav’s daughter from his first marriage also accompanied the newly married couple.
