David Duchovny’s latest song ‘Layin’ on the Tracks’ is political for a change. As the song suggests he is not a very big fan of Trump, however he said that the problems in America are much larger than who is in the Whitehouse.
Actor and Author David Duchovny’s latest song ‘Layin’ on the Tracks’ is political for a change.
It is closely linked to the current election that is grabbing everyone’s attention in America and around the world.
One of the lines in the song reads: “Have you seen what it's like/At the razor's edge?”
Speaking of the song David Told CNN, “It's tricky because I've never really written a political song before. I just don't.”
“I just don't think specifically like that”, he added.
That being said, he explained that the song was put on hold due to the pandemic and he thought that it would be a good idea to “get it out there” before the elections.
The actor explained that he decided to do the “political” song on the as he felt the need to do so.
Speaking of the Elections, the ‘X Files’ star admitted that he went to bed depressed on Tuesday. “I felt gut-punched. I felt very dark. I felt desolate. I felt I can't put up with another four years of this guy.” However as the counting of electoral votes progressed things seemed brighter for David.
As the song suggests David Duchovny is not a very big fan of Donald Trump, however he said that the problems in America are much larger than who is in the Whitehouse.
He said that the song was written last year before the onset of the pandemic. He emphasized that the song is not anti Trump despite a line in the song- “stupid orange man’!
The song is about the darkness within him that pushed him into certain areas while investigating the darkness, pain and suffering of his own people.
