Country Artist Shania Twain Will Be Seen in Netflix’s Upcoming Documentary ‘Not Just A Girl’
Global Icon Shania Twain’s Not Just A Girl, a brand new, career-spanning documentary will be available Tuesday, July 26 on Netflix.
A new documentary based on the life of country singer and songwriter Shania Twain is coming up on Netflix.
The streaming giant released the engaging trailer titled ‘Not Just A Girl’ on Wednesday.
The documentary will look into the successful career of the Canadian star and how she battled challenges that came her way both personally and professionally.
In the trailer you’ll find clips from different songs that were popular in the 90s and also find artists giving their personal take on the singer.
There are interviews with Shania’s collaborators, journalists and artists like Lionel Richie, Diplo, Avril Lavigne, and Orville Peck.
Along with the documentary Shania will also drop a compilation album titled ‘Not Just A Girl’ on July 26.
The trailer also touches upon her former husband Robert John Lange's alleged extra-marital relationship with her best friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud in 2008, which ended their 14 year marriage.
Initially former husband Robert approached her to write and produce her songs. They had many phone conversations before finally meeting in person in June 1993. The couple tied the knot six months later in December 1993.
Shania’s career began flourishing after Robert co-wrote most of her songs. They had a son Eja on August 12, 2001.
The separation however had taken a toll on Shania. She was diagnosed with a voice disorder dysphonia as a result of which she couldn’t sing.
The good news is that Shania eventually bonded with Marie-Anne Thiébaud’s husband Frederic Thiebaud who was also dejected in the wake of the affair.
They began dating in 2009 and eventually tied the knot. The couple are married to this day.
Shania Twain has sold over 100 million records, making her the best selling female artist in country music history and one of the best selling music artists of all time.
