Actor Chris Hemsworth is planning to take a break from films in the years to come.
This is because he has a high chance of being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in the future thus making him reconsider signing more movies.
He has reassured fans though that he’ll not be retiring from movies.
In an interview with Vanity Fair Magazine Chris revealed that he got to know about his high risk Alzheimer’s condition while he was shooting for Disney+ docuseries ‘Limitless With Chris Hemsworth.’
He had to undergo some blood tests for the docuseries and they informed him that he was “eight to ten times likelier to develop Alzheimer’s than the general population” as he has two copies of the gene APOE4, making him more susceptible to the disease.
When asked how he dealt with the news of being at high risk for Alzheimer’s, Chris said that he dealt with it through humour. “Very quickly, it became a self-deprecating sort of joke, if you will. It's just the way I am, my family, there's a sense of humor”, he said.
His greatest fear would be that he would eventually forget the life he built with his wife and kids.
After the completion of ‘Limitless With Chris Hemsworth’ , the action hero desires to spend time with his wife Elsa Pataky and his three daughters.
Hemsworth rose to stardom when he appeared as ‘Thor’ in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, such as The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder.
Chris will soon be seen in Australian action adventure ‘Furiosa’; a spinoff to the 2015 blockbuster ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. He will also be seen in Extraction 2 in which he’ll reprise the role of mercenary Tyler Rake.
